Baseball Recap: Penfield's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Penfield can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Spencerport Rangers. That's more bragging rights for the Patriots, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Joey Bianchi, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Penfield is undefeated when Bianchi posts one or more home runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Gabe Reyes, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Penfield hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The victory got Penfield back to even at 4-4. As for Spencerport, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Penfield will face off against Rush-Henrietta at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Spencerport, they will challenge Irondequoit at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
