Basketball Recap: Mcclatchy's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

McClatchy had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 44.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They came out on top against the Burbank Titans by a score of 47-37. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 70-31 victory the Titans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Leading McClatchy to victory were Kai Bradford and Eddie Pimpton. Bradford went 6 of 15 en route to 15 points along with five boards and five steals, while Pimpton posted nine points and three steals. The matchup was Bradford's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eugene Castillo, who had 11 points and five rebounds.

Despite the loss, Burbank still got an impressive performance from Cedric Sydnor, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 19 points along with six boards and three steals. Sydnor is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last three games he's played. Julian James-Jardines was another key player, putting up six points.

McClatchy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.1 points per game. As for Burbank, they moved to 5-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

McClatchy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-41 win against Chavez on the 21st. As for Burbank, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 66-49 victory against Rosemont on the 21st.
