Volleyball Recap: Happy Camp Indians vs. Hayfork Timberjacks

Happy Camp was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the Hayfork Timberjacks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.

Happy Camp started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-11, 25-6, 25-12.

Hayfork's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sidney Medellin led the charge by getting 13 kills, four aces, and a block. With that strong performance, Medellin is now averaging an impressive 5.8 kills per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Yarbrough, who had five aces, two kills, and 21 assists.

Happy Camp's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Hayfork, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.
