Football Game Preview: Brawley Wildcats vs. Central Spartans + How To Watch

The Brawley Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Central Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Brawley took on Imperial on Friday. The Wildcats fell 14-7 to the Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while the Tigers are ranked 140th).

Meanwhile, Central played in-conference for the first time last Friday and got just the result they were looking for. They enjoyed a cozy 35-20 win over Calexico. The Spartans pushed the score to 35-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs cut but never quite recovered from.

A big part of Central's victory came down to the chemistry between Luis Jimenez and his top target Joshua Garcia. Jimenez threw for 249 yards and three TDs while completing 81.8% of his passes while Garcia picked up 135 receiving yards and a pair of scores. What's more, Garcia posted two receiving touchdowns, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

Central's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Brawley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

Everything came up roses for Brawley against Central in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 54-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
