Baseball Recap: Dixon Beats Croatan for Their Third Straight Win

Dixon proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 11) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Croatan Cougars 2-1. The win was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won three contests in a row.

Chris Tesgle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Dixon is 7-3 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-8 otherwise.

At the plate, Dixon's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bryson Ponsock, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Dixon now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Croatan, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.

As of now, neither Dixon nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
