Baseball Recap: Washington's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against University, Washington was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Lincoln Mustangs. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Mustangs on their field since May 15, 2023.

Tasso Tourlos was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Washington is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-3 otherwise. Tourlos was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Washington let Dominic Teran and Andrew Kim run wild. Teran got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI, while Kim went 3-for-5 with one stolen base and one RBI. Those three hits gave Kim a new career-high.

Washington's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4. As for Lincoln, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Washington didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 24-0 win against The Academy - San Francisco on the 20th. As for Lincoln, they have also already played their next matchup, a 4-2 defeat against Lowell on the 20th.
