Preview: Pocomoke Warriors vs. Seaford Bluejays
The Pocomoke Warriors will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Seaford Bluejays at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pocomoke has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 351 points over their last five contests.
Pocomoke pushed their score all the way to 65 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 83-65 to Colonel Richardson. The loss was Pocomoke's first of the season.
Despite the defeat, Pocomoke saw an underclassman step up: Jamir Roberts scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Roberts is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Zymiere Walker, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Seaford put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Laurel by a score of 69-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Pocomoke's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-1. As for Seaford, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with that win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
