Baseball Recap: Bucyrus Takes a Loss

Bucyrus fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Mapleton on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mounties by a score of 3-2. The Redmen just can't catch a break and have now endured seven defeats in a row.

Bucyrus saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Valenzuela, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Bucyrus' record is now 3-16. As for Mapleton, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Bucyrus will face off against Wynford at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Royals' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Redmen's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mapleton, they will challenge Smithville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
