Recap: Denver South Ravens vs. Somerset Academy Losee Lions
On Wednesday, Denver South didn't have too much trouble with Somerset Academy Losee on the road as they won 56-41. The win made it back-to-back wins for Denver South.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Denver South to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nevaeh Millard, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Millard has scored at least 25% of Denver South's points. Another player making a difference was Kate Lindwall, who scored ten points along with six steals.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Akaylah Thrower, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Lewis, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Even though they lost, Somerset Academy Losee were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Denver South only pulled down ten offensive rebounds.
Denver South has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Somerset Academy Losee, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Denver South and Shadow Ridge will face off at 4:05 p.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Somerset Academy Losee will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Westchester at 8:50 p.m. on December 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Westchester is ranked 40th in California, while Somerset Academy Losee is ranked 30th in Nevada).
