Bagdad had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victor by a 9-1 margin over the Wickenburg Wranglers. The Sultans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wranglers, too.
Destry Owings made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Owings was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
