League recap: Capistrano Valley stuns Laguna Hills in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Laguna Hills, who took down 145th ranked Laguna Hills, 17-14.

Capistrano Valley moved up to 199 from 241 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Sea View. The Cougars climbed the ranks as a result of topping the Hawks 17-14.

6-foot-4 quarterback Nathan Cole of Aliso Niguel is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2559. He has also thrown 33 touchdowns. On the ground, Dana Hills's Marcus Hughes has rushed for 511 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Kyle Mucerino. The San Juan Hills star has 38 catches for 696 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place San Juan Hills takes on second place Capistrano Valley. San Juan Hills topped the Wolverines last week, while Capistrano Valley defeated Laguna Hills.

Matt Poston's team and Bruce Ingalls' team played the most hotly contested game in Sea View this week, with Matt Poston's team eventually emerging with a 17-14 victory.
