It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Lausanne Collegiate Lynx can now relate to. They were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 36-35 to Davidson Academy. Lausanne Collegiate's defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.
Lausanne Collegiate's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tyler Wilson, who rushed for 128 yards while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and Jawell Rodgers who picked up 75 receiving yards and a touchdown. John michael Treadway got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Lausanne Collegiate's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Davidson Academy's QB was sacked seven times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by Jeremiah Morrow and Sky Staten who racked up four sacks between them.
Davidson Academy found their leader in underclassman Caden Stroud, who rushed for 87 yards and three touchdowns. Stroud was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 69 yards.
Lausanne Collegiate's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Davidson Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.
Lausanne Collegiate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Davidson Academy will head out on the road to face off against Boyd-Buchanan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Boyd-Buchanan will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
