Soccer Game Preview: Cristo Rey vs. Grandview Heights

The Cristo Rey Cougar will venture away from home to square off against the Grandview Heights Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Grandview Heights better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Cristo Rey's game on Thursday is any indication, that's when Cristo Rey really gets things going. Everything went the Cougar's way against Varsity Opponent as they made off with a 7-1 victory. Jethro Bioh was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Grandview Heights had just enough and edged out Columbus Academy 2-1 on Wednesday.

The win made it two in a row for Cristo Rey and bumps their season record up to 6-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those two matches. As for Grandview Heights, their win bumped their record up to 4-6-1.

Cristo Rey came up short against Grandview Heights in their previous matchup back in August of 2024, falling 4-2. Can the Cougar avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
