Basketball Recap: Bethune Skates Past Triplains/Brewster with Ease

Bethune posted their biggest victory since December 8, 2023 on Thursday. They blew past the Triplains/Brewster Titans 53-26. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Bobcats had established a 23 point advantage.

Madilyn Powell was a one-woman wrecking crew for Bethune as she went 8 for 20 en route to 23 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Powell a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Samantha Robinson, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds.

Bethune was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Bethune pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.3 points per game. As for Triplains/Brewster, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bethune will host South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
