Newaygo lost against Morley Stanwood back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lions fell 2-0 to the Mohawks. The Lions' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-16.

Ruby Hughes paced Newaygo's offense, picking up nine kills. Hughes got some help from Grace Hughes and her 14 assists.

Morley Stanwood can attribute much of their success to Saige Ososki, who had 12 digs and two aces. Ososki has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last five times she's played.

Newaygo's loss dropped their record down to 26-13. As for Morley Stanwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-11 record this season.

Newaygo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Morley Stanwood, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Kent City on the 25th.
