Basketball Recap: Canterbury Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Canterbury challenged North Port on Friday. The Cougars took a 58-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bobcats. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2018.

Despite the loss, Canterbury still got an impressive performance from Josh Benbenisty, who posted 18 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Joe Banks, who earned 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Canterbury's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for North Port, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Coming up, Canterbury will take on Ida Baker at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for North Port, they will venture away from home to challenge North Fort Myers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats will be up against the Red Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 64.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
