Recap: Riverdale Ridge Ravens vs. Thompson Valley Eagles
The Riverdale Ridge Ravens have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 35 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Thompson Valley 83-26 at home. Winning may never get old, but Riverdale Ridge sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Riverdale Ridge found their leader in underclassman Brihanna Crittendon, who scored 42 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Crittendon has scored at least 25% of Riverdale Ridge's points. Another player making a difference was Brooklynn Charlo, who scored 25 points along with seven steals.
Riverdale Ridge pushed their record up to 7-2 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 43.09 points. As for Thompson Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverdale Ridge has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Frederick at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Frederick is ranked 48th, while Riverdale Ridge is ranked 29th). As for Thompson Valley, they will be playing at home against Niwot at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Niwot focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 back in December of 2023.
