Baseball Recap: Connellsville Comes Up Short

Connellsville had lost two consecutive heartbreakers to Thomas Jefferson and they left with a heavy heart again on Wednesday. The Falcons came up short against the Jaguars, falling 6-0. It was the first time this season that the Falcons let down their fans at home.

Mason Miller was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Connellsville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Sankovich, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. Brett Bartholow also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Connellsville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Thomas Jefferson, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.
