Higley won the last time they faced Notre Dame Prep and things went their way on Thursday too. The Higley Knights narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Notre Dame Prep Saints 3-2.

Jet Gonzalez tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits.

On the hitting side, Higley's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Luke Joslyn, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

The win got Higley back to even at 1-1. As for Notre Dame Prep, their record is now 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Higley will host Perry at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Higley has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Notre Dame Prep, they will welcome Hamilton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
