Volleyball Recap: HOPE Academy Takes a Loss

HOPE Academy came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the NorthPoint Christian Academy NightHawks. The loss continues a trend for the Royals in their meetings with the NightHawks: they've now lost six in a row.

HOPE Academy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-20, 25-17.

Despite the defeat, HOPE Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hadlie Drummond had four digs, four aces, and one block. Drummond has been hot recently, having posted four or more aces the last three times she's played.

HOPE Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for NorthPoint Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season.

HOPE Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for NorthPoint Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Cresset Christian Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
