Softball Recap: Prairie Starts off Right with Win over Hudson's Bay

Prairie took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 22-2 margin over the Hudson's Bay Eagles. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won seven in a row.

Payton Miller was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Prairie got a massive performance out of Jordynn Ciu, who scored four runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those four runs gave Ciu a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kylie Moore, who scored four runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for Hudson's Bay and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Prairie didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-7 win against Union on the 20th. As for Hudson's Bay, they will square off against R.A. Long at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be Hudson's Bay's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
