Artesia and Portales are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but not for long. The Bulldogs will head out to take on the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Artesia got the win against Hobbs by a conclusive 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Artesia never let Hobbs on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 27-25, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Portales posted their closest victory since September 20th on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Texico, sneaking past 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won seven in a row.

Portales wouldn't go down easily and took Texico into a fifth set where they got it done with a seven-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-15, 25-27, 25-13, 15-8.

Artesia's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Portales, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.

Artesia couldn't quite get it done against Portales in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
