Football Game Preview: Great Bend Panthers vs. Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles + Official Tickets

The Great Bend Panthers will face off against the Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles on Friday. Great Bend will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Great Bend is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Newton to the tune of 49-14. Considering the Panthers have won eight contests by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Great Bend had a senior duo take command as Ian Premer gained 118 total yards and four touchdowns and Daxton Minton rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Minton was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 68 yards. Conner Holladay was another key player, rushing for 96 yards on only seven carries.

Great Bend was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 355 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 156 rushing yards in five consecutive games.

Great Bend didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Cooper Ohnmacht picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Bishop Carroll never let their opponents score on Thursday. They took down Valley Center 14-0. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Bishop Carroll's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Great Bend, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.

Great Bend ended up a good deal behind Bishop Carroll in their previous matchup back in October of 2019, losing 28-14. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
