Frankton has gone 8-2 against Anderson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Indians at 5:00 p.m. Frankton's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Anderson's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Frankton had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Mt. Vernon on Tuesday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Marauders. Considering the Eagles' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Zoey Coppess was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aly Smith, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Mia Brooks was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
Frankton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mt. Vernon only posted a batting average of .087.
Meanwhile, Anderson fell victim to Alexandria-Monroe and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 16-0. The Indians have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Frankton pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.4 runs this season. As for Anderson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Everything went Frankton's way against Anderson when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Frankton made off with a 12-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
