Recap: Eagle's View Warriors vs. Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors
The Eagle's View Warriors waltzed into their matchup Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Trinity Christian Academy and snuck past 56-54. This was payback for Eagle's View, who suffered a 44-42 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Eagle's View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kenneth Berry led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Berry also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Justis Clements, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Trinity Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Luke Baker, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Baker scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Moricette, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Eagle's View has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-1.
Eagle's View will be home for the holidays to greet River City Science Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. River City Science Academy is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Global Outreach Charter Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Global Outreach Charter Academy will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
