Recap: Lake City Panthers vs. Crestwood Knights

The Lake City Panthers lost against the Crestwood Knights back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Lake City was beaten by Crestwood 89-44. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lake City has scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Lake City lost, one person who can't be blamed is Blayne Edwards. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with six rebounds. The contest was Edwards' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Bryson Rose was another key contributor, scoring seven points.

Lake City struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Lake City's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Crestwood, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake City will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Lakewood at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. As for Crestwood, they will challenge Marlboro County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marlboro County will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
