Football Recap: King Skates Past Clear Falls with Ease

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only King walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Clear Falls Knights 56-7. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won six contests by 30 points or more so far this season.

It was another big night for Timothy Potts, who threw for 168 yards and three TDs on only 15 passes, and also rushed for 33 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Antwon Sanders was another key player, rushing for 88 yards and a pair of scores.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something King proved: they limited Clear Falls to a paltry -0.4 yards per carry. While two picked up at least seven total tackles, Dominick Toulon stood above the rest. He picked up four sacks and made seven total tackles. King didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.5.

King didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as My'Kah Laster, Shelton Cavitt, and Enoch Bell picked up one apiece. King got some further help from Toulon: he picked up four sacks and made seven total tackles.

The victory made it two in a row for King and bumps their season record up to 9-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points over those games. As for Clear Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

King didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 51-6 victory against Shadow Creek on the 21st. Clear Falls does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
