Volleyball Recap: Riverton Comes Up Short on the Road Against Chanute

Riverton kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 3-1 to the Chanute Blue Comets. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Blue Comets: they've now lost three in a row.

Riverton started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-11, 25-19, 25-23.

Avery Barnett paced Riverton's offense, picking up 13 kills. Barnett got some help from Ava Price and her 32 assists. Price was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Riverton has already played their next matchup (against Erie), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Chanute, they will take on Pittsburg on the 11th.
