Volleyball Game Preview: Abington Green Wave vs. Carver Crusaders

Abington is 0-5 against Carver since September of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Green Wave will head out to face off against the Crusaders at 5:15 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Abington barely beat Middleborough the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Green Wave put the hurt on the Sachems with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Green Wave yet this season.

Meanwhile, Carver came tearing into Thursday's matchup with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Calvary Chapel Academy 3-0.

While Carver won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 27-25, 25-13.

Carver's win came from a few key players Abington will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Grace Hyland, who had 19 digs and one assist. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Maeve Zakrzewski, who had ten kills and eight blocks.

Abington's record is now 6-9. As for Carver, their record now sits at 13-2.

Abington might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Carver when the teams last played back in September. Can the Green Wave avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
