Football Recap: Palisades' Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Palisades strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They enjoyed a cozy 46-30 victory over the Hamilton Yankees. That's more bragging rights for the Dolphins, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

A big part of Palisades' win came down to the chemistry between Jack Thomas and his top target Demare Dezeurn. Thomas threw for 369 yards and seven TDs while Dezeurn picked up 198 receiving yards and four scores. With that strong performance, Thomas is now averaging an impressive 306.8 passing yards per game. Mattias Hernandez was in the mix as well, providing Palisades with two touchdowns.

Palisades' defense made their presence known, laying out Thaddeus II Breaux five times. Hamilton's QB won't forget James Tisdale anytime soon given he sacked him twice.

Despite the loss, Hamilton saw an underclassman step up: freshman Breaux threw for 382 yards and three TDs. Breaux is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last four games he's played. Jacob Riley also helped out as he racked up 135 receiving yards.

Palisades' victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Hamilton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Palisades is set to face off against their familiar foe Fairfax at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Thomas and Matthew Gonzalez. Meanwhile, Hamilton will challenge rival Venice at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
