Soccer Game Preview: Colerain vs. Walnut Hills

The Colerain Cardinals will take on the Walnut Hills Eagles at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Colerain came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 8-0 to Fairfield. While losing is never fun, Colerain can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 314th, while Fairfield are ranked 42nd).

Meanwhile, Walnut Hills hasn't lost a match since August 28th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Saturday. They never let Sycamore get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. Walnut Hills' winning goal came courtesy of Karringtyn Wilder.

Walnut Hills has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those eight matchups. As for Colerain, they dropped their record down to 3-8-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
