Softball Game Preview: North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays vs. Argos Dragons

The North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays will challenge the Argos Dragons at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Friday, North Judson-San Pierre came up short against Kouts and fell 7-3. The loss continues a trend for the Bluejays in their meetings with the Mustangs & Fillies: they've now lost three in a row.

Molly Madsen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Catlin Hammack made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Argos didn't have quite enough to beat Northwestern on Thursday and fell 2-1.

Ivy Stackhouse was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting four hits from her four at bats.

In other batting news, Ava Stackhouse was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run.

Argos' defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for North Judson-San Pierre, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.
