Softball Game Preview: Woodbridge Barrons vs. Sayreville Bombers

For the second straight game, Woodbridge will face off against Sayreville. The Barrons will square off against the Bombers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Woodbridge 2.2, Sayreville 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Woodbridge is headed into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line, something Sayreville almost spoiled on Thursday. The Barrons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Bombers.

Madelyn Brenner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Woodbridge's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Adrianna Zarzuela, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Sayreville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Woodbridge, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.
