After both having extra time off, the Classical Prep Lions and the Families Instructing Students HomeSchool Hawks will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Classical Prep is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Freedom: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Classical Prep blew Freedom out of the water with a 54-22 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Lions had established a 20 point advantage.

Classical Prep can attribute much of their success to Kaelyn Malloy, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 16 boards, and Mia Milanes, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 boards. With that strong performance, Malloy is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Families Instructing Students HomeSchool). They blew past Out-of-Door Academy 48-15 two weeks ago. The win was familiar territory for the Hawks who have now won three contests in a row.
Families Instructing Students HomeSchool's win came from a few key players Classical Prep will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Julianna Lamon, who went 7 of 15 on her way to 14 points along with seven boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (four). Melody Lee was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.
Families Instructing Students HomeSchool smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive games.
