Basketball Recap: Summers County Comes Up Short

Summers County lost against Nicholas County back in February of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Summers County Bobcats took an 81-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Nicholas County Grizzlies.

Maverick Smith went supernova for Nicholas County, going 9 for 13 on his way to 28 points and seven boards. Those 28 points gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaac Miner, who went 6 of 11 en route to 16 points.

Summers County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Nicholas County, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-6 record.

Summers County will host James Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nicholas County, they are taking a road trip to take on Oak Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
