Basketball Game Preview: Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials vs. Upper Merion Area Vikings

Plymouth Whitemarsh has gone 4-0 against Upper Merion Area recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials will be home for the holidays to greet the Upper Merion Area Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Last Saturday, Plymouth Whitemarsh strolled past Lower Merion with points to spare, taking the game 51-34.

Plymouth Whitemarsh's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eliza Meersman led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave Meersman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aj Avery, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 17 points.

Plymouth Whitemarsh smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Upper Merion Area didn't have too much trouble with Renaissance Academy on Friday as they won 46-27.

Plymouth Whitemarsh's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Upper Merion Area, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Plymouth Whitemarsh was able to grind out a solid victory over Upper Merion Area in their previous meeting back in January of 2016, winning 46-35. Will Plymouth Whitemarsh repeat their success, or does Upper Merion Area have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
