Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Braylin Mungo and Ayona Alexander Lead Camden to Victory

Camden won the last time they faced North Augusta and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bulldogs snuck past the Yellow Jackets with a 61-57 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Leading Camden to victory were Ayona Alexander and Braylin Mungo. Alexander dropped a double-double with 21 points and 12 boards, while Mungo went 6-for-10 to rack up 15 points in addition to seven assists and six steals. Mungo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Harmony Jefferson, who posted 13 points and four steals.

North Augusta lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Celena Grant, who scored 15 points. Traeona Davis was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

Camden's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for North Augusta, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Camden will challenge Chapin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for North Augusta, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Cross Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
