Football Game Preview: Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors vs. Laney Wildcats + Official Tickets

After each having a week off, the Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors and the Laney Wildcats will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe will be strutting in after a win while Laney will be coming in after a defeat.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 30-point drubbing they dealt Murray County last Friday. The Warriors claimed a resounding 30-0 victory over the Indians. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 21 points or more this season.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joseph Brown led the charge by rushing for 52 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries. That's the most rushing yards Brown has posted since back in August. Malachi Brown did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 96 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Laney's game last Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a hard 34-20 fall against Burke County. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.4 points on average over those games. As for Laney, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
