Basketball Recap: Sage Creek's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

If Sage Creek was feeling good fresh off their 50-27 takedown of Lincoln on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bobcats took a 65-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Santa Fe Christian Eagles on Wednesday. The loss was the Bobcats' first of the season.

When it comes to explaining why Sage Creek lost, don't look at Maxx Mitchell. Despite the final result, he shot 58% from the field en route to 28 points and five boards. Samuel Jahries was another key player, going 5-for-8 on his way to 10 points.

Dax Hall had an outrageously good game for Santa Fe Christian as he shot 87% from the field to rack up 37 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The contest was Hall's eighth in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Othick, who went 5-for-12 en route to 12 points and six assists.

Having lost for the first time this season, Sage Creek fell to 3-1. As for Santa Fe Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Sage Creek will look to defend their home court on Monday against Steele Canyon at 7:00 p.m. As for Santa Fe Christian, they will take on San Marcos in a tournament on Friday.
