Volleyball Recap: Calvary Day School Picks Up Ninth Straight Win at Home

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Calvary Day School walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Gaston Christian Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Eagles back in August, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

Calvary Day School never let Gaston Christian on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-23, 25-13.

Leading Calvary Day School to victory were Reagan Reece and Katheryn Tate. Reece had five digs and four aces, while Tate had 14 digs and two aces. Tate is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Calvary Day School was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in six consecutive matchups.

Despite the loss, Gaston Christian still got an impressive performance from Peyton Hunsucker, who had seven assists and six digs.

Calvary Day School's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-11. As for Gaston Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-12.

Calvary Day School didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Arendell Parrott Academy on the 16th. Gaston Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
