With a playoff win on the line, Southwest rose to the challenge on Friday. They secured a 27-23 W over the Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs. Those 27 points were actually the fewest the Roughriders have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

It was another big night for Houston Billeter, who rushed for 90 yards on only 12 carries, and also picked up 35 receiving yards and one score.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Southwest proved: they limited Sumner-Eddyville-Miller to a paltry 2.9 yards per carry. Coming up, Southwest will challenge Red Cloud on Friday. The Roughriders will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests. Sumner-Eddyville-Miller does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
