Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Joe Banks and Josh Benbenisty Lead Canterbury to Victory

Canterbury posted their closest win since January 24th on Wednesday. They skirted past the Babcock Trailblazers 50-47.

Canterbury was led to victory by Josh Benbenisty and Joe Banks. Benbenisty posted 17 points and five rebounds, while Banks shot 55% from the field to rack up 14 points. Benbenisty's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Charles Minton was another key player, putting up five points.

Canterbury was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Babcock still got an impressive performance from Jameson Habing, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 14 boards. With that strong performance, Habing is now averaging an impressive 16 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Finn Habing, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Canterbury's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Babcock, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Canterbury has already played their next contest, a 63-21 win against Riverdale on the 4th. As for Babcock, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-19 victory against Naples Classical on the 4th.
