Football Recap: Bayard Rustin Takes Down Henderson in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Bayard Rustin rose to the challenge on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Henderson Warriors 42-0. The Golden Knights haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Will Garner continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 250 yards and five touchdowns on only 13 carries. Those five rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Colin Baldesari, who rushed for 71 yards and one score on only seven carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bayard Rustin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 418 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in five consecutive matchups.

Bayard Rustin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Max Learn and Baldesari.

Bayard Rustin's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Henderson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Bayard Rustin will challenge Kennett at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Golden Knights 8.6, the Blue Demons 13.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Henderson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
