Basketball Recap: Clinton Takes a Loss

Clinton was the 50-39 winner over Canton when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Arrows had to suffer through a 70-28 loss at the hands of the Tigers. The Arrows were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-12.

Aria Jones was Clinton's leading scorer, having posted ten points.

It was another big night for Shamira Morton, who dropped a double-double with 31 points and 11 boards for Canton. The team also got some help courtesy of Dekendra Mitchell, who posted eight points and five steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Clinton fell to 4-1. As for Canton, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Clinton has already played their next game, a 52-46 loss against Forest Hill on the 15th. As for Canton, they will take on Morton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
