Basketball Recap: West Port Sets Scoring Season-High Against East Ridge

West Port scored the most points they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell to the East Ridge Knights 73-69. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (66), the Wolf Pack still had to take the loss.

East Ridge was led to victory by Isayah Smith and Jordan Corman. Smith went 7 for 17 on his way to 25 points and four steals, while Corman dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Joshua Joehill was another key player, putting up 18 points along with five assists and three steals.

West Port is on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9. As for East Ridge, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Port will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Umatilla at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. East Ridge will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Space Coast at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. East Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.3 points per game this season.
