Basketball Game Preview: Campolindo Cougars vs. Piedmont Highlanders

Campolindo is 4-0 against Piedmont since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Campolindo Cougars will take on the Piedmont Highlanders in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. Campolindo will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

It was a proper cat-fight when Campolindo duked it out withLiberty on Saturday. Campolindo came out on top against Liberty by a score of 47-39. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Lions are ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Campolindo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gavin Rendle, who went 5 of 10 en route to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Devine, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 13 points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Piedmont was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 49-43 to International.

Piedmont's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Campolindo, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

Campolindo beat Piedmont 64-54 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Campolindo since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
