Volleyball Recap: West Jefferson Takes a Loss

West Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Chalmette Owls. If the Buccaneers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Owls when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-5, 25-6.

West Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Chalmette, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-9.

West Jefferson and Chalmette could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. The Buccaneers (ranked 226th) will meet Mt. Carmel (ranked second) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Chalmette will challenge St. Mary's Dominican at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (70 vs. 1).
