Football Recap: Kemper County's Rushing Dominance Continues + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Kemper County walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 50-32 win over the North Side Gators on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Damarius Yates was his usual excellent self, rushing for 145 yards and four TDs while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. He is becoming a predictor of Kemper County's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 5-1 (and 2-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Murray, who rushed for 100 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Kemper County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 329 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 183 rushing yards in 11 consecutive matchups.

Kemper County now has a winning record of 7-6. As for North Side, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-2.

Looking ahead, Kemper County will take on East Webster at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Wolverines have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. North Side does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
