Baseball Recap: Columbian Tornadoes vs. Perkins Pirates
Columbian had lost nine straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 4-8 to make it ten. They fell just short of the Perkins Pirates by a score of 5-3. The Tornadoes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pirates earlier this season, when they won 4-3.
Johnny Bremyer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. That home run was his first of the season.
As for Perkins, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games.
