Softball Game Preview: Belding Redskins vs. Holton Red Devils

The Belding Redskins will head out to square off against the Holton Red Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Belding's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Holton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Belding is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Lakewood just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. Redskins fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Vikings since Thursday.

Olivia Ingles was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Ingles, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Holton fell victim to Ravenna and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 15-0 to the Bulldogs. The Red Devils have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Holton's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Belding, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-6.

Belding might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Holton when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Redskins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
